Western Hemispheric Programs

	Objective The Office of Western Hemispheric Programs’ main objective is to foster and support academic, cultural and business exchanges between countries in the Americas and the University of Arizona. Goals Increasing international collaborative projects with an emphasis in the Western Hemisphere at the University of Arizona Strengthening collaborative teaching and research on a bi-national basis in areas which are relevant to the State of Arizona and its citizens. Increasing the number of student and faculty exchange programs. Developing and implementing mechanisms to better identify current and potential collaborative projects and their impact in the state of Arizona and within the region. Serving as a resource center about collaborative work, funding opportunities, and liaison with institutions in the Americas. Identifying and developing opportunities for the funding of the collaborative activities of the University in the region. Fostering understanding, awareness and respect of the countries in the Western Hemisphere and their higher education institutions.
